Providing a safe working environment for healthcare professionals and providing safe patient care requires appropriate staffing in healthcare facilities. Staffing shortages might occur if community transmission levels rise or family members need to be cared for at home. Plans and processes should be in place to mitigate the effects of potential staffing shortages in healthcare facilities.
