The Health Commission of the Mexican Parliament, chaired by deputy Emmanuel Reyes Carmona (Morena), held the discussion “The future of the health system in Mexico: a comprehensive vision”, with the participation of academics and representatives of foundations, consortiums and alliances of private providers of these services.
Reyes Carmona explained that this legislative instance seeks to make possible a public policy aimed at complying with article 4 of the Constitution, and thus guarantee free health care to citizens. He emphasized that in order to achieve a health system that truly meets the needs of Mexicans, it is necessary to listen to the public and private sectors to understand the challenges they face. The deputy took on the challenge of opening up to everyone to build, pay and contribute elements that strengthen the health system.
The secretary of the Health Commission, deputy Éctor Jaime Ramírez Barba said that this event has the objective of knowing the opportunities and challenges in the provision of health services, who are the beneficiaries and the beneficiaries of public institutions. He specified that “what is reported here will be reviewed in the Health and Social Security commissions.”
